The Shepherd -an archetypal saviour for mankind

Following anything new is hard and it’s especially hard when it feels like you’re walking alone. I realise more and more each day that EVERYONE is looking for something or someone to hold on to as their source of strength and reason for being.

It’s been a year since I’ve had my vision about the Shepherd and every month since then it seems like the vision has grown and grown.

It’s also been a year since I’ve been having to deal with grief without actually dealing with it. Grief from losing a loved one who was supposed to be around for a lot longer than she was. Grief from not being able to have her hold my future babies or deliver my future children. Grief from realising that the person who would have been defending me and cheering me on in person could now only defend and cheer me on in spirit. Grief from realising that the stronger version of me needed to come out now instead of 20 years time.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I have a Shepherd too. I’ve needed one, particularly this year. I’ve never consistently prayed in tongues this much in my life. Tongues, sermons, the Bible app and cannabis oil have pretty much been my life. For those of you who don’t know what I mean when I refer to “tongues” – It’s basically a supernatural language gifted to those who profess faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour aka their God or in this context – Shepherd. My definition and experience of tongues is the repetition of incomprehensible words and syllables to help my mind and body enter into a meditative state where I become more aware or attuned to what God is saying to me.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Interestingly enough the first people to ever speak in tongues spoke in tongues on this very day around 2000 years ago so it’s an ancient spiritual practice for believers in Jesus. Can people who don’t believe in Jesus practice speaking in tongues? That, I don’t know but I do know that if you ever started making strange word noises with your tongue for extended periods of time and you weren’t a believer… chances are after a couple of sessions you would be.

When I speak in tongues it’s undeniable, supernatural things happen.
